Candidates must demonstrate expertise in program planning, budgeting, financial management, and staff management, along with experience in monitoring and evaluation.
A strong understanding of human rights, climate induced human rights violation, climate change, environmental degradation, and gender is essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Bengali are required.
Applicants must possess computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet applications.
Experience in collaborating with local administration and national networks, as well as having a motorbike driving license is a must.
Knowledge in safeguarding (Child Protection, Gender, & Anti-Sexual Harassment) and conflict transformation is also necessary.
The Project Coordinator has to maintain close relation and coordination with other senior staff members of DASCOH as well as lead applicant NETZ.
Responsibilities & Context
DASCOH is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Project Coordinator for its project titled ‘Environmental Human Rights for a Just Transition: Strengthened Local CSOs Transforming Climate Hotspots into Resilient Communities (ENGAGE). This project will be implemented in Tanore and Godagari Upazila of Rajshahi district and Manda and Mohadebpur Upazila of Naogaon district. The project is being implemented in collaboration with other NGOs in 6 districts having NETZ Bangladesh as the lead organisation. European Union (EU) is financially supporting the project. The Position will be available from 1 April 2025 to 31 December 2028. The detailed eligibility requirements of the position as mentioned below:
Job descriptions/Responsibilities:
Lead a project implementation team.
Provide conceptual and strategic guidance to the team members on human rights, women and girls rights, gender and identity-based violence, inclusive governance and advocacy.
Monitor and ensure quality standard in implementation of the planned activities in time of the project.
Lead administrative and financial management related issues of the project.
Ensure optimum and efficient use of project resources.
Ensure proper formation of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) at village, Union, Upazila and District level, student forums and capacitating them on human rights specially gender equality and inclusive governance.
Organise and facilitate local and regional workshops and democratic dialogue with CSOs, young HRDs and Public authorities.
Organise in-country joint exposure visit of CSOs and Local Authorities (LA’s).
Establish formal or non-formal linkage/network with community, local authorities, government officials, local elites and other organizations through repeated interaction.
Prepare periodical (Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly) factual report of the project and document good practices.
Provide support to conduct different research and study under the project.
Technical support to develop training module on conflict sensitive human rights-based approach to environment and climate change, climate advocacy and networking issues and conduct training for staff and stakeholders.
Coordinate climate resilient innovative initiatives at school and community levels, and coordination of rapid response and support mechanism and reporting.
Organise journalists at district level and train them on reporting about the nexus of climate change, environmental harm and HRV.
Supervision of and capacity building support for third parties.
